Independent app, not a government service. Qld Blue Card Checker is built by Gladstone Digital. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Queensland Government, Blue Card Services, or any government entity.

This privacy policy describes how the Qld Blue Card Checker mobile application (“the App”), developed and published by Gladstone Digital, handles user data.

What the App Does

The App provides a convenient way to validate Queensland Blue Card status using the publicly available QLD Government validation portal. It does this by loading the Queensland Government's official Blue Card Services validation portal (bluecard.qld.gov.au/onlinevalidation) inside a secure in-app browser. The App also offers a camera-based scanning feature to read details from a physical Blue Card.

Data Collection

Gladstone Digital does not collect any personal data through the App. Specifically:

  • No personal information (names, card numbers, dates) is transmitted to Gladstone Digital or any third party. Validation requests go directly from your device to the Queensland Government portal.
  • Validation history is stored locally on your device only - see “On-Device Storage and Validation History” below.
  • No analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking is performed.
  • No advertising SDKs or third-party tracking tools are included in the App.
  • No account or login is required.

Camera Usage

The App requests camera permission solely to scan physical Blue Card details using on-device text recognition (OCR). Camera images are processed entirely on your device in real time. No images or photographs are stored, saved, or transmitted at any time.

QLD Government Validation Portal

When you validate a Blue Card, you interact directly with the Queensland Government's Blue Card Services validation portal at bluecard.qld.gov.au/onlinevalidation through an in-app browser. Any information you enter into the validation form is submitted directly to the Queensland Government - Gladstone Digital does not intercept, access, or store this data.

Your use of the Queensland Government website is subject to the Queensland Government's own privacy policy, available at www.qld.gov.au/legal/privacy.

On-Device Storage and Validation History

The App stores a history of validation checks locally on your device so you can review past results. This data is held only in the App's local storage on your phone.

Your validation history is never transmitted to Gladstone Digital or any third party. It does not sync to the cloud, and it is not backed up to any external service by the App.

You can export your validation history as a CSV file at any time. Export is user-initiated - the resulting file is saved wherever you choose on your device, and any subsequent sharing of that file is entirely under your control. Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App will permanently remove the history from your device.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 18. Blue Card validation is an activity performed by adults in organisational or volunteer roles.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be published at this URL with an updated date.
